Enquire about this beingThere is someone inside you who has been waiting a very long time. Not waiting to be saved. Not waiting to be explained. Just waiting to be found again... to be sat with, to be asked gently....
what did you need that you never received?
We usually grow up and leave bits and parts of ourselves behind over the years….. while most of us tried to keep a promise to not loose our spark. and suddenly it seems lost along the way, only if we remember, only if we release enough to feel the love again we may meet this little one in the later years of adulthood .
Those parts did not disappear. They are still there. They have been keeping everything safe for you. Everything you were too young to hold and too brave to forget entirely.
This inner child wants your curiosity. It wants you to come back with soft hands..... and be tenderly confronted with questions about love, honesty and trust. To be able to see and feel again. To hold and be held.
Something for the inner child asks what happens when we stop fleeing inward by going outward, and instead turn back toward the one who was left standing in the hallway of our earliest years, still holding everything we dropped on our way to becoming acceptable.
And yes, there may be tears. Tears of release.
Let them.
A release is the most ordinary thing in the world, hence the most overlooked. When a child cries, the crying is complete. There is no observer standing beside the tears deciding whether they are appropriate. The child does not cry and simultaneously watch itself crying. The act is total. And because it is total, it ends.
And because it ends, there is space.
This is what we have forgotten.
