A figure caught in the crystalline dawn between sleep and sight, her eyes opening not with a start, but with the slow, inevitable pull of light through water. This is the moment when the veil thins: when the weightless drift of slumber collides with the gravity of knowing. Holding the tension of a paradox—beauty born of fracture, clarity forged in the shattering of dreams.

You have been walking the ocean’s edge, holding up your robes to keep them dry. You must dive naked under, and deeper under, a thousand times deeper.

The sculpture’s form is a hymn to the irreversible. Once the veil lifts, there is no return to the innocence of unknowing. The blue crystals map the cost of awakening: the loneliness of seeing through the stories we once clutched like lifelines. Heavy with the residue of illusion, part just enough to let in a sliver of truth, sharp and unrelenting. Divinity lives in the wound of awareness.

To wake is to feel the world rearrange itself inside you, cells realigning to a rhythm older than reason. The white glaze, luminous as bone or moonlit frost, speaks of exposure... the raw, trembling vulnerability of standing naked before what cannot be unseen. Yet within the posture lies a gentleness, a recognition that awakening is not a rupture but a remembering.

What is the weight of a lifted veil?Is itthe weight of a universe collapsing into focus?Slow-opening eyes mirror our own reckoning—the dawning understanding that ignorance, once lost, cannot be reclaimed. The whispers telling us - To know is to carry the world’s shadow.

The sculpture dares to ask: What if enlightenment is not light, but the courage to stand in the glare of what we’ve ignored? Awakening here is not transcendence but immersion. The gold, delicate as a nerve ending, traces the pathways where illusion once flowed—now drained, leaving only the stark architecture of truth. Her posture, neither rising nor resting, signifies the liminality of wachwerden: the breath between before and after, where my soul trembles with the challenging gift of sight.
